I am about a month and half pregnant and i have been taking valproic acid up until a week ago. I am wondering even though i have stopped it if this is gonna cause birth defects. I herd the baby could get Clip palet which would cause the child to not be able to talk. I want to keep the baby but if it means its gonna have defects i dont wanna take that chance and have it
I know all pregnate moms are terrified of birth defects..even "normal" pregnate woman.
I would highly suggest you bring this up with BOTH your OBGYN and Phyciatrist...have an Ultrasound ASAP,and Amnio also....if you Google Depakote,read the warnings on taking it while pregnate...well,I don't want to make you cry,they are scary.
