well i am considered smi and my question is is it ok to date people with with same disordor as your self ?

I don't know what smi is.
But if you are referring to a mental illness... I know of at least 3 couples who are both bipolar and married.

thanks for your reply sorry for not being pacific SMI stands for Serious Mental Illness anyway just seems like a question i really like feed back on cause some are against it and some are for it .

There are a lot of people on here who have relationships with other people who have a mental illness... Some work and some don't... Jesse you would probably get more replies if you repost this under the 'general bipolar' category....x

For bipolar I think it can make some things easier - like having an understanding of what is happening, seeing the signs in your partner of an episode - but then if your cycles co-incide I can imagine an amplification of the problem.

And then there are issues that if you are considering having children and as there is a genetic link you are likely to increase the chances of having a child with the disorder.

I think it depends on each person. Some can do it some can't. I guess you would only know once you tried.

well thanks for the input I've dated a couple people that had similar issues mean bio polar and it seemed like the person wasn't right for me yes i know there are success stories but i guess its really is a personally choice it works for some than others that where my minds at

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
