Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

all the reasons for our incompatibility were based on faults found with ME. Is it typical for someone w/BPII to not even realize their own impact to the dynamics of the relationship? The faultfinding, the impatience, the nagging...is this part of BP or just someone's own personality?
My friend (not the BP) seems to think he (BP) wants everthing to be because of something wrong with me, and not him. Not owning up to hid own responsibility and admitting his behavior, and seeking help to correct it.
thanks

He needs to take responsibility for himself. He experiences pain and unhappiness and you take the brunt by default just because your there. Its not fair. Its abusive. If it wasnt you it be somone else...his friends, co-workers, family. Its easier to find blame in others than to admit that your being an asshole. I want you to know that I am speaking from personal experience. I used to be a real asshole. I would hurt anyone who was close to me. My disorder is MY problem and I realize that now. I have a six year old named Ella and she is precious to me. I have a wife who loves and cares for me. I refuse to subject them to MY problem. Its bad enough that I have to live with this. I have an obligation to them. An obligation to love, support, and care for them. I refuse to pawn my shortcomings off on them. They deserve better than that. Best of luck. Its not you.

There's several reasons that could all be contributing to this - and it is true especially for BP's not to even recognize their own symptoms as different from normal life experience (much less own up to them)I agree, we must all be responsible for our own actions, and at the same time, please be patient with your BP in helping him realize this. A good counselor might be able to help you open his eyes gently as well as take care of yourself in the process.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
