I'm so depressed and it started this morning for obvious reasons. As the day got longer I wanted more and more to get the hell off this freaking horrifying ride. Then the feeling of how selfish it seems to be feeling like this today of all days which compounded the guilt. The big circle .. the merry-go-round from hell.
All I wanted was to speak to someone to sort through the muck so I can handle matters. You know how it gets all knotted up and confusing .. overwhelming! I have Vonage [computer phone service] so I couldn't get 411 inofrmation.. I called 911 to see if I could get a crisis # . They gave it to me and while I"m on the phone with crisis the police show up at my door and compound the situation using a great deal of pressure to force me to do what they thought was best.. whew!... they brought me to the emergency room. If they had just let me finish up talking to crisis I could have sorted everything to a reasonably manageable degree. Instead I was given some med, Adivan ?? One that I never had before and told by the med staff that the med is a cure-all type of med. YAY so that made me feel confident lol. WTF? So instead of a simple phone call now the Seargant and his deputy and 4 or 5 medical staff get to feed off me to make their quota. I'm more fucking depressed now because of the circle of BS. But, I'm laughing... sheesh!

They were there to help you. There are cities and towns where you arent so lucky. They have been saving your life. I do not like hospital stays they are scary.

I am not so sure that it would happen here too.
I talked to Crisis once and got someone who knew what I was going through, I was glad since I was crying so hard that my hubby came in from an errand and I couldn't talk so he got the phone and asked what to do with me and the man said to try and calm me down a bit. It worked but I won't forget that man at all.
I wasn't high or low that day just got a phone call from a bill collector who was rude and mean.
But Crisis did have me scheduled to see a doc there and I have been on meds since. I was on my own before this.
Sometimes Crisis is all you need.
I guess they don't see it the same though.

Did you, in fact, get billed steeply for this debacle?
I would have chopped off my finger and said, "hey can I get another ativan? " what in the world??!!!
So, I know there is some type of protocol if the police are alerted that someone has threatened to harm themselves or others, I know that they are required to go to the house and in most cases, they haul the person out of there and take them to a hospital - I wonder if this specific crisis line felt the need to call the police.
In any case, gosh, what a clusterfk! I'm so sorry you had to go through such a debacle. Did they at least write you a script for more ativan, seeing as how you just went though a really stressful situation that wasn't even warranted (sounded like by your post that it wasn't warranted).

I had been crying when I called 911 but did say that ALL I needed was someone to help me sort through everything because I was overwhelmed. I was lucky that they do have a system in place as such. When in that frame of mind it was hard to see the forest for the trees. :) Hugs All
