Not a word has to be spoken- it's that deep knowing of each other- respect and love.

It can be that look or gentle touch- Feeling safe. No doubts about the person you are with.

It is different for everyone but for me it is something I share with my husband of 20 years- so whatever it is - it's working for us.

A true agape love being present when the other will look out for your benefit given any situation that is present, whether big or small....This love must be freely offered and cannot come at a cost....The same is then known to be in the offering in return....Being a man....The man must stand and take the bullet that may be aimed your loved ones way....If the man between a relationship cannot do these things no real love is present and it is a invalid love.....The women must do the same, which is to look out for the best interests of good toward the man.....But the man not the women must be ready to stand in the way and take a death bullet if one is shot their way.....

It's something wanted by most, but truly offered by few and it's rarely a constant even from those few. At its core, it's about giving of oneself for the benefit of others, but not demanding the same from them. What you give is your choice, not a requirement. In no way does that mean that you allow others to abuse you though.

Intimacy is letting your guard down and leaving yourself wide open. It is shedding all coverings, both physical and emotional, and dropping your guard. It is the only way to reach the highest mountain top but it can also lead you to ruin and the deepest valley.

Rather than a fine line I see intimacy as a broad spectrum of interaction with other living things. Just to keep it n an interpersonal level between humans I would even count eye contact with another as being an intimate gesture. Helping another across a crowded street or up/down a set of stairs. Being helpful and polite to me is being intimate in some degree.

Getting to know another person is an act of intimacy in itself. How can you know if you even like or trust another without investing something of yourself and expecting same in return?

Lust, love and laughter all involve intimacy. Your final word in your post, tats, is in itself an expression of open intimacy. Above all intimacy is about trusting another enough to actively recognize their existence.

I should state that I see everything as alive, or part of life. You can find intimacy with a rock and in the doing the rock gives all that it is back to you. No drugs required.

I feel that intimacy is like love-never having to say ur sorry. Like giving all of yourself and not expecting anything in return. Hopefully it will be returned and usually those are people that we love. IDK, am I making sense or am I just tired-LOL!!
