Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Sorry if this posts twice. I severely hope not, I don't want to seem spammy. My page would not load when I tried to post it the first time, luckily I copy-and-pasted before I hit submit.
Here it is. As promised 20 seconds ago when I posted my whine/bitch/sob/bemoan thread, this thread is all about putting a little strut in your step, putting a little step in your sitting-around-not-doin'-much, and tips and tricks for looking something like a normal person on those grody off days.~ (I may sound harsh but, it's my internal monologue. I joke with myself kind of harshly, so I hope it inspires a laugh and not a hate letter.) BTW this will read a little like a blog post, with my internal monologue speaking tongue-in-cheek. The second little bit will be more bulletins for the actual "tips and tricks" and you can comment with your secret weapons against looking shitty and feeling shitty.~
Fashion magazines are actually pretty good motivation, if the thinly-veiled pro-ana doesn't trigger you/me/somebody too much. If it does, fuck it. Fuck 'em, who needs 'em.
If you're numb to it like I sort of am nowadays, we can move on. They're good for a couple of things. For one they glamourize other rather dingy, unhealthy things, other than hollow cheeks and ribs showing.
The slicked-back hair trend! Looks greasy and gross, right? But it's intentional. If your hair's lookin' kinda not-so-great, you can try to slick it back into a precise ponytail so that it's like, "I meant to do that." Like a cat falling on all fours.
Also the whole grunge thing. What once was lazy and apathetic, is now a trend? "Neo-grunge".
Weird faces too.
I'm partially every-kind-of-white and partially Native, frankly I look like a really, really weird white kid, and it never really worked for me until I realized that I don't look like everybody else, and never will.
So I kind of made my ambiguous/ugly work for me. Which is also a "thing" now, not that average is bad. It's extremely under-appreciated in fashion, but, I'm strange and sort of ugly-looking (at least right now, in my opinion), so, it works in my favor.
Seeing other weird-looking girls being praised and paid a lot and having entire trends designed around their aesthetic personally inspires me, so, maybe somebody out there reading this can give it a shot.
Magazines are kinda over-priced though. Not that I endorse illegal activities, but if you get a chance, if you don't have your own Cosmo/Allure/Seventeen/Vogue stash, loot one from a friend or doctor's office! Anarchy!
Anyways. Other stuff.
Sex-positive feminism has helped me a lot, as well. And the whole queer thing going on in the blogosphere.
Having a list of blogs you follow/read is great, because you'll find that there's a LOT of representation for "uncommon" or flat-out under-appreciated body types (and, hello, faces) going on there right now. Whoever taught you that there is any standard way of looking, was wrong. You just have to look for representation of your look. You'll find it, I promise.
Tumblr is great. You can "follow" blogs so that you don't have to write them, and their posts show up in your "feed". Which is a weird word, kind of makes us sound like chickens in a coop. Anyway. Lookbook is good for style. A lot of highly-rated users dress more lazily than you'd think.
(TIPS) Big-ass sweatshirts are my best friends, they will be your's, too. No matching is required, no layering, no coordinating with your pants or shoes. If you gain weight, nobody knows, it fits the same as it did before, and there are a LOT of couture/custom/higher-end ones for when you want to look fancier. *sticks pinky out*
Jeans, too. I like mine razor-sharp, like a second-skin, and black, because that too, is a way to fancy-up an otherwise lazy outfit.
But even if you don't like tight pants or jeans, you still win! Athletic clothes are in now, too. There's an entire 'high-end' (or, looks high-end, but is neither that nor expensive, ahaaa) industry of sweatpants and "joggers".
FOR UNDER-LOVED HAIR AND SKIN:
Skin-
-oil cleansers for the face and also cleansing water or cleansing milk are god-sends. Moisturizing BB cremes, too. No matter how much your skin is fucked up from neglect/oiliness/nervous-habit (or ADD meds) picking, the right cleanser and foundation can fix it right up.
-Brows and mascara. Will make everything okay again, even if you're beyond done with makeup and getting made-up.
-ALMOND OIL. I've said it before, I'll say it again- almond oil. For everything. It's the best skin moisturizer on the planet.
Hair-
-DRY SHAMPOO.
-"Dry oil" hair mist for moisture
-Silk protein hair mist for volume and softness
-Salt sprays for texture
-Spearmint hair mist for volume
-Olive oil creme for extreme shine, but use sparingly.
On days when my side bangs are extremely oily but I don't have time to jump in the shower and wash, I will occasionally shampoo just the bangs in the sink, and blow-dry them, which usually takes no more than 5 minutes. My hair always looks fresh when I do this.
Hope this helps. Feel free to post inspiration or tips.~

Thank you for the tools- now let's see what I can do with them!
Almond oil? Never tried it - yet, it's on my list now. Spearmint mist sounds luscious. Where do you find it?
I still wear makeup when I go out. Expert on that already. Love to wear black leggings with Uggs. Makes your legs look thinner with a big shirt. You can even dress it up with jewelry. I wear my Uggs all year long and have about 4 black leggings. Skinny jeans, lots of jewelry and white button down shirts oversized to cover your crotch area look great and are cheap!!!
