Oh No! Root canal is the worst. When I had all 4 wisdom teeth out it wasn't as bad. I got a drip of some extremely relaxing stuff then the nitrous and I was out for the duration. I wish you courage and rapid healing.

Oh! I hate going to the dentist! In recent years, I've forced myself to go b/c I don't want to lose my teeth! I take an extra prn, have someone I trust with me and make certain the dentist knows how phobic I am - they're usually a bit more gentle if they know how you're feeling. The dentist I have now has TVs at each chair - it's a wonderful distraction.

A root canal? Yikes! But you'll feel so much better once the pain is gone. Hugs to you and wishes for a speedy recovery!

OH GAWD!! I feel for ya. I'm due and have a few things bothering me so I know it's not going to be good news. Hate being trapped in that chair with hands in and out of mouth and you can't run!! Hope you get to feeling better!!

Ha! I avoid the dentist at all cost. I've only gone as a requirement for school. Hated it. I take very good care of my pearly whites but I think I should make an appt to get them cleaned soon. Oh the horror.

This is the second root canal this year, but I didn't have pain with either one. Both were detected on a routine exam before the decay reached the roots. I really have never minded dental work and I have had so much of it over the years, but I've only had one tooth pulled. I have many crowns. I had braces in my 30s. And I have veneers on my front teeth; wow, they really took 10 yrs off my appearance! I've even fallen asleep during a cavity fill!

Rested this afternoon and plan on chillin' out this eve.

I have to go to the dentist on the 23rd to have a filling refilled..... No needles though

I have a fear of the dentist. I have an appointment in a few weeks and I am sure I'll have to pop extra ativan to get me through....

I take a xanax before I go. it works for me..

I hope it all went ok for you. The dentist has never bothered me & I have had loads of work done on my teeth. The only thing that grates on me is the sound of a drill or the suction thing. The sound just drives me up the wall, so if I need any work doing that involves them I put my headphones on & blast out some tunes.

I've only ever had one filling in my entire life. Had my first root canal this Summer, which didn't turn out so badly. However the pain beforehand caused me to take paracetamol and ibuprofen like sweets and was sick as a dog the following evening.

My entire life, every dentist I saw said if everyone had teeth like mine , there would be no dentists

2 years ago I had to have a Crown put in ...not too bad

I have to have another one done in a few weeks.

I guess age and dry mouth from meds has finally caught up with me

So, I don't have a lot of dental experience

I was wiped out until this afternoon.........I'm good now.

My extensive dental work began after I gave birth. I swear they depleted the calcium in my body!
