I am in Accounts Payable. I spend the companies money. This job is essentially an office position, being that it is for a relatively small company I have many other duties that I normally would. I used to love to work in a retail/warehouse setting, managing the location. That position became entirely too stressful for me. Even today I have really hard days and it is from the slightest issue. I think just holding onto a job is stressful enough for many of us so we are happy to have one when we can.

I am an Executive Assistant for a major finance company. Very stressful but have learned now to "go with the flow". Easier said than done....but doable. I handle all adminstrative duties, credit, AR and AP, and Assist the GM.

Once you have people on your side, especially at work, it makes life easier. On and off the job.

Hi, Sampaguita, I am a former career property manager who has managed a wide variety of assets including residential, commercial and retail properties. I last managed a highrise office building in Downtown Los Angeles. But then I went nuts and now I am unemployed.... I loved property management: dealing with the tenants and subcontractors, preparing monthly reports and annual budgets, etc. but being middle management was a killer for me. I'm not very politically astute and found it increasingly difficult to please upper management... So now I'm looking for something way less intense. I do not want to be an administrative assistant or a secretary because those gals (and guys) really have a pressure-cooker job. I'm looking for something along the customer service line. I work as an Executive Administrative assistant at an insurance brokerage firm. I support 4 people. It's very quiet and slow because there aren't a lot of people at least not on the floor where I work. My prior job was at a major financial firm for 7 years which was very stressful. At this new job I've been at it for a little over a year. Sometimes I sit and stare at my computer because there's nothing to do. I try not to complain, but I need it to be a better balance of work. Not too stressful and not too boring.

I work as a certified dental assistant and it is EXTREMELY stressful, overworked and underpaid. Most dentists are very difficult to work for. I have trouble dealing with high levels of stress and high stress and being treated like crap are one of my triggers.
I have had 6 jobs over the last 5 yeras ( quit them ) now I am having trouble finding work due to my poor work history. I am thinking about disability, nut it is not enough to survive on and if I did my family would disown me. Right now I am to sick to work and don't know what I'm going to do about money...etc.
Any suggestions?

I am also considering getting my makeup artist's license, since I am addicted to makeup, but I'm still afraid I may not be able to handle stress or support myself.
