As a courtesy, I have had good relationships with my immediate supervisors and felt comfortable sharing with them that I am BP. It's not a major problem for me on a daily basis. But I seem to get the feeling that I'm looked at as "broken" a little more. I think I've decided to keep this information completely away from any future employer. Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm now covered by the equivalent of Americans with Disability and various local processes.
But my advice always was "don't tell unless you absolutely have to".
I won't tell a soul. So many ppl have illnesses that they don't even know about yet & still function on the job.
I have a friend who told someone she's a cancer survivor. She & the person who knew she is a cancer survivor were both applying for the same job. Well, the other girl told the potential employer about the my friend's medical history & my friend didn't get the job.
