Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
In my life I've seen that what is possible can be truly amazing, even with a disabled and broken mind.
No matter how much you dream...or even work hard towards a goal...not everyone is going to be a Football star....there are limitations .
Having a broken brain is one of them.
NOT to say we shouldn't dream,or strive for goals....but they must be realistic goals.
However, expecting to accomplish much at all using a broken tool doesn't make sense to me.
It's not a matter of just putting your mind to it, your heart has to be into it, also.

each of the categories lists hundreds of people!
To see so many people who excel in life in spite of having a mental illness lets me know I am far worse off that I even knew.
Nope! I'm afraid that my broken and disabled brain has put a lot of limitations on my life, as of late.
It has been a long, long time since I was capable of accomplishing much!!! I can't cook anymore and I used to be a good one. I can't always drive my car. I can't always clean my house. I can't always comprehend the posts here, on DS.
Yes, I would have to say that I'm in a very sorry place right now, with no end in sight!!!
On the plus side, I'm not in a depression right now, even in this crippled state!!!
Sometimes, feeling good is the best I can do!! And I still have hopes of hitting a capable period at some future point!!!!
Having said all that, I will also say that sometimes life forces me to do more than I would have guessed that I can do!!
I must try harder.
Good luck, heretic!!! I so wish you were doing better!!! ((((((Hugs))))))
Another is I think that a broken or disabled brain, in any capacity has a plethora of wealth at their disposble that a normal functioning brain does not have. Just think about what strengths have been produced in you because of limitations. Our limitations that we think hinder actually aid because they open us up to humanity...to human need. And that produces beauty!
Honestly, I try to hold myself to: "Work with what you've been given" rather than "You can accomplish anything if you set your mind to it." I can't...there are some things no matter how much my mind wants them that are unattainable to me...so working with what I've got sets me up for much better success.
I can still solve my problems and the ones I cant solve I ask for help with. The things I would like to do and cant I look for someone who can.Sometimes I am asked to do things I am not sure I can like instaling a sink and faucet in my parents kitchen.I did it by sure willpower and willingness to help people who help me.
All those people on the mood disorder list had help from other people to be successfull.I do the same thing knowing that I am limited at times and at certain skills.
I have a mood disorder and the best mood that enables me is PASSION.It can be very powerfull and when used in a good way can make dreams and miricals come true!
I put my mind to being mentally well and a normal person. Yet I cannot achieve this ever because I have a permanent mental illness.
Stuff that stupid saying, it just makes me feel bad.
