It's important for me to live by myself because of my extreme sensitivities, but if I weren't in a supportive and caring relationship I would be very lonely and that is a major stressor for me. I've been doing so much better with the living/romance arrangement I have and unless I had my own wing in a large home I will stay this way. He's good with it too.
But, here's the thing- I don't have to work that much because of my career in Tantra and Sex Counseling (everything is legal). I'll see just one client a day and make 150-200. And so, I'm not worn out. I can manage myself in a relationship. It doesn't "get away from me". Nor do I throw a temper tantrum and break it off (my former m.o.). Actually, I did do that on 3 occasions in the past 6 1/2 yrs. He convinced me that he wouldn't abandon me because he stilled loved me (even though I kept breaking his heart). A gal has got to be heard! And although I didn't have to resort to drastic measures and risk everything, it did, each time, move us forward.
The point is, I realize that even though alone time is important, an anchor must be included.

myself personally i was a loner in life since i was young never dated never even talk to anyone most of the time when i wasnt around people i knew. its hard to bring someone in your life especially with dating or being with someone. i defenitly believe that you are right about the anchor. if you have no support you will be left to your vices and lose touch with reality. and i agree it has to have a balance in it. i usually dont let anyone (except those that i trust) get too close to me because i dont want to be labeled or judged. but i just got into a relationship after 2 years of being single and it feels nice

I've always been a loner too but am very anchored by my marriage. Luckily for me he's a bit of a loner too so prefers a low impact likestyle too. We're very content together also with our separate rooms for individual pursuits.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
