I've been living in my new apartment for 7 months now. I have made 1 friend. I've been trying to make new friends, via the internet (since I have no other means of making friends). I've mostly talked to men...and let me tell you, they're all superficial assholes (the men I've talked to...not men in general).
Even after talking to someone and hitting it off then talking for weeks or months regularly...once I show them a couple of pics or my webcam they hightail it out of there.
I know I don't need to talk to these people that are that superficial, but it feels good to have someone to talk to...only to be completely cut off from the friendship due to the way I look. Am I really that hideous??

But I will also say that I am just as interested in chatting with female friends as in male friends. For me sexual attraction plays no part in who I would want to chat with.
So I am not sure if you are chatting to mostly men for a reason other than wanting more friends or... what? But if it is actually a sexual relationship you are seeking I'd definitely show my picture First. It will save you alot of time chatting to someone who isn't sexually attracted to you

I'm perplexed!! Your picture looks fine to me and I am surprised that guys you had been chatting with hightail it out of there!!!
I guess you could show them your picture right away, if you feel comfortable doing so. That would weed out some of the creeps. But I bet that the some of the ones who did stick around would still be creeps. It's the nature of the Internet!!! So be careful!!!

If an image is what they need to be pleased then they are superficial and hollow inside. Empty carcasses. Assholes. meh, people can really suck sometimes ya know.....

I agree though that men are superficial a-holes. (For the most part) If I do meet men online, even for friendship or chat I always show a picture from the get go. Just because I know that if they think I am bad looking they wont even wanna be friendly and why waste my time. Men are just a big mystery to me.
