Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Hi. My name is JC. A very few of you know me already. I have been a member of DS since early January on the Chronic Pain board.
I have, for the last few years, carefully distanced myself from the fact that I'm bi-polar. Mostly due to having multiple medical problems that I did not want to be dismissed by having a mental health dx. I'm sure most of you understand what I mean by that.
On joining DS, I decided to keep those as seperate issues, and, except for those I've condided in on the CP and on this board, have kept that part of myself/life to my self.
I was dx'ed many yrs ago and lived yrs and yrs on the roller coaster. About ten yrs ago, for varied and some unknown reasons...I became quite stable. And have been so up until the last couple of years. Which are still very mild compared to old episodes.
Most recently, though...the depression and anxiety that comes with ungoing intractable pain has upset the balance.
I " lurk" here as often as I am on the CP board...and find myself now, just as I did with chronic pain in January when I found DS....feeling a need for contact with those who " get it".
I had thought to come in as a different screen name than on CP...but..I'm not great at duplicity..so...time to " out" myself.
Sorry this was so long and rambling.
Thank you....jc

Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.

Well, good morning to you!Today is National Roller Coaster Day. Are any of you going? It's also National Tell-A-Joke Day! Come up with some and share!I'm not bright with jokes these days, but I'll start:"Today I ordered a chicken and an egg from Amazon...I'll let you know." :D

I went to the ER once with a serious asthma attack. When they saw my bipolar meds, they did not want to give me treatment, because they said I was a "drug seeker". My family doc had to write a note telling them to treat me immediately, and was outraged that I had to fight for treatment. He wrote me a note to give in the ER, till they got to know me.
So hope you post regularly, and glad to get to know you.
As a long time member of the bipolar group, I have found a lot of support and knowledge.
I hope you do too
