Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I am behind you 100%. Self-certified and self-appointed analysts can be downright destructive. Among my many repartee's I use for dispatching them is, "Please let me trust the therapy program I am already working. Feel free to leave your resume if you would like to be considered for any future openings."
There's often a certain amount of denial. No parent wants to accept their child has a mental illness or "disabled". There's the guilt, was it their "bad genes" they passed on. Was there something they did wrong in parenting?
And then they flip to being over protective parents, hyper vigilant, seeing everything you do as being due to bipolar and something they need to try and fix.
I agree that it is good to,advocate, for yourself
At the same time though I were try and listen to what their concerns are and whether or not there is any validity to them...big hug...xo
