sorry
what a complete douche bag seriously
Doorknob do what you can to fight this....you haven't gone anywhere and your kids were fine. How can he get away with this?
:(
over christmas they kept them I only got to see them a few days at best and they had them the rest of the week! now they had them again this week end. I got a call from his wifes cell phone from my daughter. But now I feel worse about it because I hadn't slept for so long I was very messed up when I was talking to her.
What should I do? I can't even fight them? My uncle has lots of money I have nothing! I'm not even sure if it isn't true that I"m not stable enough to have custody! I my meds weren't working well enough back then I signed that paper I have no idea what it even said!
My family is so fucking mental! I'm well enough to work but not to have my kids! What the fuck it makes me so mad I never want to see them again! I want to move across country and get fuck away from them! But I also want to see my kids!
I'm wait to see if I calm down first but if I don't I'm going!
I was looking forward to this week end.
I"m calming down a little I just keep telling my self this isn't the end of the world.
But I have a killer head ache now.
this is my 2nd to last nightmare. There is only one more nightmare I have left to come true. Just one more. If that comes true I really can't guarantee what will happen after that.
But don't worry its not over yet. I still have a reason to live right now. I want to see my kids. I want to see them grow up. And even if they get taken away I know I can see them once they turn 18 so its ok.
maybe give it the night before you make any sudden moves like going to the hospital. UNLESS you really feel you need to then deff. go. I hope maybe you haven't done anything to hurt yourself, please don't do that because no matter what...they are still your kids...no one can truely take them away from you forever. You need to be there.
I wish I knew what to say right now...and just wanted to let you know I was thinking about you. xoxo
Do you have a copy of that piece of paper you signed for your uncle?
You need to get hold of that!
Can you phone the school to find out what he has been telling them?
Are you going to be able to see them this weekend?
It was just so upsetting (I'm still up set just not on such a huge level like before)
Honestly I just can't believe it. I never dreamed they would do that to me. I'm not saying that maybe they didn't do the right thing honestly I don't know. I just wish they would have talked to me first. I think it just hurts the most because of the way they went about it. I'm pretty sure it must be true as I was told that all the kids were saying it. Because I asked her when she told me what was said.
I thought well maybe the just didn't feel like explaining so it was simpler to say they had custody. But now my kids were saying it too?
I plan to confront them about it. But obviously not while I'm upset.
I also plan to call the school (hopefully some one is there since its the holiday) and find out who has custody.
It's just also I hate the fact that I was so messed up when I talked to my kids the other day it's like it confirms the fact that I'm bat shit crazy.
any how to answer the question no I do not have a copy of the paper I signed. I signed it at my uncles office and he did not give me a copy of it. I probably was too aloft to even think of such a thing at the time.
At the same time, either while you're in hospital (if you're capapble) or when you come out, seek the help of a community legal centre and find out your rights. It may be that a midway point is reached where you can see the kids with a view to getting them back further on. I know it's hard, but pitting yourself against the system just doesn't work. I hope all this gets sorted out for you and for your kids.
Just a thought. Maybe he has temporary custody, in order to deal with the school.
I thought permanant custody had to go through the court system. You would at least have papers from that.
Ask your uncle for a copy of the papers you signed. Just tell him you never got a copy, and you want one to keep in your records.
Either way, they are your children, and you are their mom. Nobody or any kind of paper can change that. Love to you. MK
but I do still get to see them as it is. My children are in a boarding school so my uncle doesn't have them either. But I had signed a paper a while ago. My uncle had me sign it in case something were to happen to me that he would get custody. But I was suppose to still have custody until then. Now that I think about it, it might have been power of attorney but I really can't remember. There wasn't a real issue though for a long time. As I had a car and I was still picking them up on some week ends when I could have them. But after my car finally broke down and I couldn't fix it I had no way of getting them. So I depended on my family to pick them up and me up so I could see them.
But some time in December I went to the hospital because I was suicidal. At the same time I had lost my welfare (because I had missed important appointments). So I had to re apply. I also was suppose to go to an appointment to get it re instated but I happened to go to the hospital the day before. So I had it postponed. How ever ,my case worker told me that she could not postpone it one more time after that. So I had to leave the hospital and go to that appointment. Other wise I would have stayed longer. And that was almost right before Christmas day.
Any how once I went to the welfare appointment my case worker started asking me questions about my kids. She started asking me questions about how often I had them and things like that. Which I thought was odd since they never asked that before. I told her that I did still get them. She asked me how often. I said on major holidays and 6 additional week ends during the school year. ( I realize this is complicated but stick with me I'm getting to the point eventually). Then she went on to ask me why I never called a head (I get extra food stamps for when I am suppose to have them) to get food stamps. So I told her that I usually have them at my moms house so I don't need them since I don't have a car and it's easier for my family just to keep both them and me there. Then she looks at her paper and made a face. Then she asked me who had custody. I said that I did. So she said she had to verify that with the school but I wouldn't get cash for them until it was verified.
At the time I did think that was strange as I have annual and semi annual reviews before in the past and they have never asked who had custody ever before. My kids have been in Milton Hershey school for about 2 years now. So I did kind of scratch my head a little bit. She said they had already faxed the paper work to the school once and that the school hadn't gotten back to them yet. So I didn't think much of it after that because I figured once it was verified I would get my full amount of cash back.
Well a month later my cash never increased. So I went down to the welfare office to see if the school had contacted them yet and what was going on. My case worker wasn't in so if that happens they send some one else who can look at your file. He told me that I wasn't getting cash for them because they were in milton hershey school. Then I told him that milton hershey school told me I would not lose cash benefits for them just because they were in the school. He said I'd have to talk to my case worker about it and they he would call me on monday (it was friday).
Well he never called. I have been to the office several times and he is NEVER in nor does he answer his phone! SO I never did find out why. I just figured that with all the government cut backs and bullshit going on that the welfare laws might have changed since I first had them enrolled with the school. So I didn't really think about it again after that.
But here's the other thing right after christmas after I got out of the hospital my family told me not to say any thing to my kids about being in the hospital (Like I had plans to any way). And I only got to see them christmas day, and maybe one other day a week later before they had to return from christmas break. I was a little mad about it but I figured it had something to do with my mom as she is not a real kid person so my uncle was having them the rest of the week that they had off for. I also thought maybe they were trying to make it easier on me since I had just gotten out of the hospital. Not real sure about that.
but then when my sons birth day came I still only got to see them for my sons birthday party which my uncle had at his house. They had them for the week end though.
I had expressed my fears that my uncle might actually be trying to take my kids away from me to one some one all though I can't recall who I think it might have been my moms boy friend Dave. But all I can remember is that they assured me colleen would never allow that (that is my uncles fiance). And since she has been very kind to me I talk to her a lot I believed that was probably true. And she is a very good person.
but some things don't quite add up if my uncle does have custody. Number one is that I still have medical benefits for my kids as I just got the new cars for them in the mail. And the other one is that My uncle is very well off and milton hershey is a school that is completely free and exclusively for poor families who qualify for it. So if he has custody then why are they still in the school? Obviously my uncle wouldn't qualify for it. But I'm not completely sure since the school might have told me that even if at some point my situation improved financially once they were enrolled they would still remain in the school. Honestly that was a very long time ago over 2 years since I first had them enrolled. I can't remember.
So I'm really not entirely sure what IS going on here. But I do plan to call the school today and hopefully some one is there since it is the easter holiday I might not get to talk to any one. But I plan to find out from the school since they would obviously know that.
I do think if they did get full custody though it would have been after christmas as when I pressed steph (my friend on facebook) about it she said that was back in February. Her daughter also goes to milton hershey and her daughter is in my sons class. She said she saw my aunt at a parent teacher's conference. She said asked my aunt ( I guess she thought it was strange that I wasn't there and she was) and my aunt told her she had custody.
I said well maybe she said that because it was easier to explain then telling her that they are also sponcers but I'm still their main sponcer. That is when she said that the kids were saying it too. I was too upset so I forgot to ask her if she meant my kids or other kids in the class. I don't know it must have been an ordeal if the kids were saying it.
My friend has no reason to lie about it. So
what is every one's opinion on this? What the hell is going on? Do you think it's true or something more complicated like a misunderstanding?
Now that I do think about it though I did mention this to my aunt when I started having problems with welfare. I'm pretty sure that she assured me I still had custody.
Honestly I have no idea what is going on here.
