I lost my job

I got laid off on the tenth of Feb. I am trying to get things in order I applied for and got approved for unemployment and Medicaid. I have a ton of medical and mental conditions. I will be able to barely scrape by. My family is SOOO not there for me. They are horrible, self centered people. I would rather be homeless than have to live with any of them. I just don't know where to go, or what to do. I have to figure out whether I want to keep living in the city I am currently in, or get the h:)! Out.
I have so many ??'s and no answers..my head is swimming. I'm afraid of slipping into a bad depression. :(

Its good that you have done what is necessary to start your life over.
I'm sorry you lost your job (I know the devastation).
Apply for "disability" a constant income...based on your last years of employment?
I am in the process of that now.

Sorry to hear about the job. Do you have someone outside of your family that you can keep a line open with as you get through these difficulties? (You WILL get through this!). A therapist or a support group? We of course are here but I think it's good to have a check in close by too. I hope everything turns out okay for you. Sending good thoughts your way and (((hugs)))

I'm sorry you lost your job BUT You've made the first two steps: Getting unemployment and getting Medicaid - I know unemployment is not enough to live on (we've gone down that road before) but what about applying for disability?

Im sorry this happened to you. I have lost many jobs as well and each time I have felt more hopeless. i think what really helped me was finding the strength within myself to survive. It sounds like you are doing just this. Best of luck to you and just know that though you may not have the support with you family that you deserve you have that support here on DS. Hugs.

I'm very sorry you lost your job. I hate not being able to work. I, also sorry that your family isn't helpful. I have experiences with this, also. Society has become very sad in this way because there is less family support it seems overall.

When I left my husband I had a tent+ packed in the car. I came to a point when I would have rather lived in a tent than live with him anymore. Thankfully a friend took me in for awhile.

I found the food banks helpful. I found the library helpful.

    Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
