The first medication I was on after I was diagnosed was Geodon. It caused seizures,then I was switched to Abilify, which caused akathisia, then an eye impairment. Now, I am on Seroquel, which causes me to sleep incessantly and gain weight.

But consider that most people react to medications differently.

Take a chance, since most people react differently.

I have had positive results with Abilify. Negative side effects with other meds but neither one of these. I don't remember having negative side effects with Geodon although it has been a while since I was on that one.

I was on Geodon, but it made me sleepy and it didn't go away. I also had to take it twice a day. My pdoc switched me to Abilify and it seems to be working fine for me. The Geodon did work for me, but I couldn't take the tiredness. I do have twitches, but my pdoc says they will go away in time. I also had akathisia for the first day, and that was not fun to deal with. I couldn't sit still, had to pace. I also only have to take the Abilify once a day. I really like that fact. I like it just fine. I wish you luck and if you do try it you don't get any side effects. Everyone is so different with each medication. Have a great night, & welcome to DS. I am fairly new myself.
