My talent for relationships and professional achievement has suffered a great deal because of the way my mind works.
I have heard the concept of a "playpen" discussed in terms of people's lives in a psychological way.
Currently, I live in a very nice home, in a very nice area, (though it's shared - it's still nice and I am lucky.) I have a job - and I have money for small expenditures. It's not all that I want- but I am lucky considering I have no backup savings anymore- and no major career. I collect SSDI
and things are 'covered.'
Today I started to notice myself getting really arrogant about what I have.
I have had this happen before - where I have achieved something for myself (like when I had a job at a major corporation and a home fully paid for.) Once I had the thing, the safety, I forgot how much I'd been through to get it. How lucky I was...I forgot - and my mood sailed high - and I became flippant with it. Like I could do better, with out covering my bases.
When I had an amazing job and an amazing home my Bipolar mania had me blow it all away. I forgot that I had been helped to get that kind of 'playpen' and I didn't appreciate it. The bipolar mania can wrench you from relationships and practicalities in a big way.
I suppose what I am saying is, just today I noticed that kind of flippancy returning to me. I can't brow beat - I just don't want to 'fcuk' up again. I want to achieve stuff again.
As Jan once said... noticing stuff so you can nip it in the bud - is a good thing. So perhaps now - with hindsight being 20/20 I can shift and accommodate for the shrill mood - and just gently get on track.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

Now - success to me, is having choices! When out of control, or very broke, no choices - everything is worse.
The good old days weren't always good, and tomorrow is not as bad as it seems!
