I've been in the mental health system since the mid 80s. I've done what I can do...I've maintained progress in my recovery...participated in every plan made...I take my meds religiously...cooperate with my staff whoever they are...always worked a job...even though I've spent alot of time in hospitals I try to do therapy either in/out of a facility...I just don't understand why I feel so empty/worthless/incapable of understanding why I do alot of things yet I'm helpless...helpless to understand why I can't function in a world...a world that doesn't want me to be a part of it. I need to know what others think of these feelings...if others have felt this...most important of all what

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Do you mind if I ask do you suffer from trauma as well or PTSD?
If you do and only answer if you want to you may need more specialized therapy such a DBT
I'm glad that you've found us..... This is a good place for friendship and support.....xo

I know we all get discouraged, especially when we cant obtain long term stability. Its frustrating to do everything right and it still not feel like it's working. But you're still fighting and that's something to be proud of. I too struggle alot with both feeling worthless and helpless. Ive done alot of things I wish I could take back and because of that I am really hard on myself and really doubt my worth. And its so unfair that some people can just skate through life and we have to struggle so much, sometimes just to make it through the day. I deal with alot of anxiety too. Hardly ever do I feel comfortable or at ease. And life can get pretty miserable that way.
I'm relatively new to the diagnosis, just several months in, but in my short journey I've noticed tweaking your meds can help alot. Is it possible you've been on the same meds too long and they're just not cutting it anymore? Or with the same psych dr too long? I imagine staying with a pdoc long term that knows your history would be helpful, but maybe a fresh perspective would help too?
This a great place to share your feelings and get support. You'll find most of us struggle with same challenges as you.
