Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

but be careful of the sugar high.
Beccs41...just ignore your mom. She obviously doesn't get it.
So what if your mom calls you a brat??? At your age, I was viewed as a brat and I thought my kids were brats. It is just the interpretation of a parent and her version of how she feels at that moment. You know who you are. If it bothers you that much, sit down with her and talk about it and what you can both do to meet in the middle. It may take some of the stress off of you.
I like Tommy's idea. There were times I just wanted an "out" and my common "first" thought was to leave this world. So, I began to fantasize about getting in my car and rolling all the windows down, driving down the highway as far as I could go............blowing all the shit out of my life, LOL Sometimes just the "thought" can give you a sense of relief.
But, if you find yourself doing it regularly or thinking about plans of doing it and how, you NEED to reach out to professionals for help. You have a lot of life ahead of you, I promise. I remember 22....I am 57 now and very glad I stuck it out. I know now all that I would have missed and some of it has been great.
Hang in there sweetie, you will move past it. Focus on the best YOU!!!!!
xo
Don't listen to your mother when she calls you a a spoiled brat. I have a common law step mother who likes to attack all of my siblings with passive aggresssive banter. We have all learned to ignore her comments, keep to the contructive and to walk out of the room if she gets rude (we are all collaborating on caring for my dad because he had a stroke).
People in my life speak of self nuture. It might be a worn topic, but they are right. Taking care of yourself is paramount-whatever that entails. For my friend Liz, taking care of herself is using the pwoer to say "No" if she has to, or helping pets find new homes. For me, self care is getting extra rest or eating right.
Try not to give into the negative opinions of judgemental people who cannot understand where you are coming from. My son has ADHD and he goes through this all of the time. A proper understanding of who you are can often deflect the passive aggressive b.s. of others.
Get help if you need it.
Hugs,
