I have been a member on the BP board since 2006 and if they are going to play with this CL stuff I figure better the devil we know than the one we don't. I have seen a lot come and go with over 150 friends on the site so what the heck I applied. I do believe in free speech and know that there has to be some latitude given to the BP board because after all we are Bipolar ya know!

In case they are crazy enough to enlist my services as a CL for the board Believe me I will let you know and understand that sometimes our actions are just what they are good and bad, but at least we can work on keeping some of the trolling trouble seekers calmed down a bit it is not like it is hard to spot a person who just wants to cause trouble and they may just need to calm down for a day or two. When they don't belong to BP they don't know the lingo and cant take the heat we dish out so in general the BP board does well policing itself.

If any one thinks this is a horrible idea feel free to let me know after all like I said better the devil we know than the one we don't.

I thought all this CL stuff was just a suggestion from someone...I didn't think it was for real?

They think someone is going to actually going to be a CL,and keep the peace?

I did it too. To me it's more of getting rid of the trolls. I'm all about healthy debate and even arguing can be good. But I've seen some threads that need to just stop or maybe someone that needs to take a break for a bit. But that's about it. I doubt I'll even get it but, I have a really good understanding of the illness and the different aspects of it as well.

as long as we are not on egg shells like we are in normal life then fine so be it. i do like the idea of someone that knows us and understands us being a CL. but also not ban sarcasim and stuff like that that makes this a fun and relaxing place.

Haven't we done just fine without needing a CL? yeah, we have been in arguments. But they die down. We really do not need a moderator. And this is going to cause a lot more damage to our group than not having one.

We just do not need a moderator; haven't so far, and don't need one now or in the future.

And I am goign to be the one to say it; if we are required to have one, I do NOT want it to be a bipolar individual. We all know how we can swing back and forth on this board, and I don't want a bipolar moderating me. Especially someone who has a special interest of being a member of this board and is active and not objective.

CL's can be objective and just because u have a Cl doesnot mean u cant be sarcastic or have fun or anything like that.
They mostly get rid of trolls by closing their posts and if a post turns into a fight fest with namecalling and demeaning or threatening language then that too is closed or if the OP requests it closed then it can be.
Yes there are still some problems on the Depression Boards but they are being Ironed out in time and the thought of depending on DS staff alone is a joke they arent around half the time and the other half they do not respond or when they do it is ban and no reason given.

You also have to consider how fast DS grows daily. How many admins are there? Just a handful and there's 500 people in this group alone.

They don't have as much power as you think if you look at PepperMan's thread from earlier. I don't really see a whole lot of change happening just mostly getting rid of trolls and stopping useless arguments or maybe telling member they need to step back and look at their behavior. Battyelf has it right.

i would rather have a beeper than a normie, although i don't think there are any normies on this site.

i would vote for nobody in a heartbeat. but i think we need at least 3 CLs to balance it out. i am against the insta-ban policy. warnings first from CL on the topic, then if need be, warning in a PM, if that doesn't work, turn it over to DSadmin. i don't like the idea of a CL having all power. face it folks, it is going to happen whether we like it or not.

oh yeah quacked, i dealt it in the frozen food aisle and booked off, left it to be enjoyed by the many people there.
