This is Just for TODAY - not your past, when you love to draw and not your future or the rest of your life, you are having a bad day or week - you might need to rest, check meds, eat well - you WILL DRAW AGAIN!
I promise - its just not today, just for today - hang out here! Play on reply on others threads, keep sharing on this one!!! You are not alone, and again....
This is not the rest of your life - this is Just July 1 - Next July first you'll have a whole new set of problems : )
try a different medium.
Try drawing upside down. Use your other, non-dominant hand to draw something...or draw without looking at the paper.
meditate and face with a warm heart and soft eyes.
Get a change of scenery.
take a creative "fast" and don't create for several days or more. Only observe and ponder without words.
Most importantly, stop judging yourself and your work. Set your opinions aside. Be very kind to yourself. Gentle.
This too shall pass. Don't fret. xo
I struggle with writer's block. At age 17 I thought I'd have published a novel at age 20. That time has come and gone. I'm in my mid 20s now and I still haven't published anything.
I am still creative in painting, drawing and writing but I haven't yet publically shared and published anything yet.
I guess what I'm attempting to say is that I may have some understanding of what you're going through. :( I feel for you. Try to think of it as temporary.Try creating something new. Just doodle, scribble a few words in a journal. Get creative in a garden (if you have a garden), or with crafts?
Hopefully this won't last long for you.

You will fail many times, in the eyes of critics and yourself, before the masterpiece comes out and even if its 1 in 30 never stop moving the pencil.
I keep writing, every day, even if it is just a list. I go through the motions so that when the time is right and creativity flows, I will be ready.
So draw something, every day. Even if it is just a stick figure. You may not be pleased with it, but consider it practice. Keep your mind ready for creativity when it happens, and bless it when it does.
Now I can't even toss off a bit of verse or a poem anymore and after five novels I think I"m about done with that part of my life. I try now and then and when I fail once again in just hurts more. A big part of my life died with the death of that ability.
