constant fibro pain (level 8) + severe bipolar disorder?
i am 25 year old female.i watch tv & am online a lot bc reading a book or doing puzzles doesn't provide enough "stimulation" to distract me from my pain. i am in too much pain to have the peace of mind to do a puzzle/crafts. my hand joints can't sew or knit. i wear glasses as it is and i get really down on myself that when at the end of the day i realized how much tv/computer i used (about 9 hours a day). but i am in too much pain to do anything else (i have visitors sometimes, once a week i go to the doctor). what should i do? how can i not be so down on myself?

I am mostly housebound also and you should know that you are not alone. I thought I was for a long time but then through groups like this I learned that there are a lot of people in the same boat. I have children though so I guess that makes a difference in some ways but someone does everything for me and I rarely get out unless I'm going to the dr or they are and I handle all the school stuff by phone. My point is you are not alone.

I just know I feel sorry for you. A woman friend is pretty homebound too. However she does travel by specialized service for people with disabilities. Is there such a service where you live?

I hate being on disability because you get so bored.. Not working or not going to school is driving me more insane than I already am. I just watch TV play with my cat and dog or work out and get on the computer that's about it besides going to the doctor and a friends every now and then...

I have been pretty much housebound for years. It can get brutally boring sometimes. The computer, the phone, the TV are all ways to cope. Hey, maybe you can start a group for those of us that are housebound and then we'll have a safe understanding place to go. Just a thought.
