I think that exact process is a real stumbling block for me.
perhaps I am captain obvious about that - but
she is helping me by mentioning that to try and reframe
rather than just ruminate, get stuck and not proceed further
course or direction - but have the regret be like a forcefield
or brick wall to my progression.
I guess certain things will always be issues for me
just like it is for each of us
but I do so appreciate this new idea - it's really good.
"Reframing" takes a lot of practice. This article give some helpful tips. https://www.nhs.uk/every-mind-matters/mental-wellbeing-tips/self-help-cbt-techniques/reframing-unhelpful-thoughts/

I think we all have those poignant moments we identify as regrettable moments. Nobody can change their past, but whoa are we ever so lucky to have a chance to have the new wisdom and insight in our toolbox. And I don’t mean just for our journey but for the advice or the kindness we choose to show others.
Kindness goes a long way when tiptoeing quietly into the future.
I did something today that I felt badly about after I did it.
I heard the judgement of peers in my head saying 'nicely done'
with sarcasm. I felt at an impossible quandary, and yet then
I thought to reframe things like my therapist mentioned. I was nice enough to do the errand
and support and drive the person to the place she needed to go..
And that helped me a great deal to be at peace!
I thought about reframing my vantage on my life
as well after that and that brought kind of a pride
in terms of being generally appreciative for the way I am handling my life.
The joy inside starting to swing way upwards as I drove and I knew I had
to kind of refrain from going with that appreciation too much. I was driving
recklessly and
I needed a kind of grounding and that eventually came
with some intention -
I'm here in my cell/room now after the errand and I am so grateful to be living here.
This really has been a bucket list thing for me!! I deserve to live
my dreams too I think!! :) :)
The whole living in 'community' is really nurturing and nourishing
I am looking forward to a year's experience here!...
and the fruits it will bring! peace you guys! Seize the day!! xo
It's not prison like - it's more of the aescetic nature of
simple, plain and self disciplined living.
Like if your a college student you call your room a 'dorm room'.
It's just that way for monastic members.
