The only thing that works for me is trazodone and sometimes that fails me. Ambien will knock me out for a few hours but it makes my anxiety 100 times worse the following day.
When I'm having a rough patch I do pretty much the exact opposite of what experts would tell you to do. I usually fall asleep while watching netflix on my phone in bed. For me it's better to be focused on a show that has nothing to do with my life or my worries right before I go to bed. For some reason any type of relaxation method before bed causes my mind to race even more.
Insomnia is the worst. I hope you get some relief. HUGS.
Sometimes reading a boring book can help -
Do you need white noise when you sleep? I do. I have a small fan.
I hope you're asleep now and restfully so :)
And SleepyTime tea...don't know what's in it but it does make me snoozy.
I'm surprised with Melatonin you had a reaction.
There goes that idea for me..I've never tried it..
I just tried the newest sleep aide....Belsomra...not so great..woke many times in night anyway.
When I get good sleep...full stomach...dark cool room...with the white noise....and definitely making sure I pee right before bed...:)
Just 1/2 a pill kills me...
Well, ok, I went through something similar. I stopped sleeping. After 3-4 days I'd fall asleep for 3 hours or so. This went on all summer. I thought I would lose my mind. So doc lowered my Trazadone to 50mg. I was taking 150mg. At 50mg. it makes me snoozy.
I don't react with antihistamine sleep medicines well lol.
I as on Ambien at age 14-15 I think. I dunno. Worked maybe like a week.
Tea makes me have to pee a lot so... not good before bed.
I need a tv in my room. I zone out to late night tv and fall asleep listening to it pretty easy.
I sleep alright these days because
my medication puts me to sleep well. Maybe it's the low dose of Trazedone helps (that's what the Docs said, that it was for sleep in the low dose form.)
So...there's two things. Trazedone or Nyquil. Though Nyquil is cough medicine - it puts me to bed really well! :)
And I was 15 and inpatient at this time, so I had to show up to morning group meetings like that.
Wolf of Wall Street made it sound a lot cooler than it actually was, if my analogy's accurate. xD
We have a lil one in the living room but we're moving soon, so she doesn't see the point of rearranging things now.
They're aight for sleep.
Doob- Bentyl does the same thing and every doctor tries to give me that for IBS. I used to abuse it. I tried one tab a few months ago.... All I can say is wow. I have no idea how I used to do that.
It's really dissociative and nightmarish.
I'm used to my brain going 1 million miles a minute, so I can't "relax" into whatever kids are into these days that helps you "git gone".
I need some weed probably. I don't even know how I'd get any.
Talk to some kids outside a high school? Lmao.
My aunt has a medical marijuana pen that she got when she was living on California still. It's from a dispensary. It says specifically to not use Marijuana illegally, or in illegal ways. ???
