Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I think the longest I ever went was 75 hours and I was nowhere near needing any kind of medical attention.
I stay off the road when I haven't slept, though. In case I'm not good at judging and handling things.
If you're talking about getting by with a little sleep, I went over a year on 1:45 minutes a night. (I slept exactly that long every night.)
And that was after a year of sleeping 2:30 minutes every night.
Not sleeping very long was one of the symptoms that made me head to the doctor's for a diagnosis in the first place.
I know I've seen people talking on here about not sleeping at all for weeks!!!! I can't remember if they landed in the ER.
Good luck to you if you're struggling with this stuff!!!!
(((((Hugs)))))
On the third day I would be calling my pdoc for help .
If I started having hallucinations I would go strait away , or be on the phone with my pdoc .
A quick med adjustment could save everyone a lot of trouble .
However, I spent almost three- four months with very little sleep meaning only an hour or two every few days and that was because my body said FU to my mind and collapsed.... that was an extremely brutal time and no I didn't go to the hospital then either.
Should I have gone? Oh I'm sure considering it brought out my psychosis even more but I survived and now I am back to minimal sleep but more than that time....
It is what it is for me- I manage and just keep on managing.... Hope you are ok and not suffering from any of this stuff....
