I've fallen into a depression spell. I worry about many things. I try not to but it's difficult for me. I'm a natural worrier. It ran in my mon's side of the family.
One thing I'm worried about is getting a job. I keep thinking I need a job even though I'm on disablity. I don't think I've ever fully excepted the fact that I'm disable. I was used to work. Not working seems unatural to me. Maybe I need to except the fact that working is too stressful for me.
These depresson spells are so difficult. It takes alot to get through them.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo
You might not 'work at a paying job' .... You Do Work! This is another area that I don't often give myself credit for...being a Mom, keeping a house clean, cooking, laundry, driving ???, grocery shopping etc..and being a caretaker for your son's grandmother...that is A Lot!!!
Two weeks ago I started to clean the house of an 83 year old woman....I wonder if you could do something like that...I only clean for two hours. I didn't want to go through an agency as that would create anxiety if I needed to call out. I'm feeling a bit of pressure already as she wants me to come twice a week now.... it's hard to say no....I go on Friday.
It's good to help with my depression and isolation now that my son is not living with me...about a week/half now...a transition period to adjust.
As a dear friend here on ds, we just 'keep on keeping on' and doing what we can each day....wishing you the best!! <3
I'm having a lazy morning, knowing there is much which needs to be done...it's 11:30am so I've a good part of the day to accomplish working in my Horrible, wanting to be Beautiful crafting, sewing, and comfy chair room :)....atm it's filled with many containers of Old papers, lots of crafts, things needing mending....
I have a neighbor who is 93!! I just saw her walking....she walks 2 miles a day around the blocks where I live....she's had knee surgery and has a bad heart...she's amazing!!! Doesn't make me feel very good when I'm not doing anything outside, or even moving when I see her! Anywho~~Onward....with the hope we both find something today that will make us smile and feel accomplished :) I know by the end of the day, I will be closer to a cleaner room, a Completely clean kitchen that's been a mess since Sunday!
I've really enjoyed volunteering although I don't do it right now... Chicken soup for the soul..... xo
Sorry to hear the siren song of depression is playing for you.
Yeah the work/purpose issue is a toughie to wrestle with. The first question in all of this is what makes you happy? What do you like doing? Inch along there for a bit...
Believe it or not life does have some fun things to do. Right now your job is to find some experiences that speak to you. ((((hugs)))) None of this is easy so ease up on yourself these are hard things to figure out.
