How do you take your pills?

one at a time? Two? A few? Al at once? With applesauce pudding or yogurt?


i gave up and chug em all at once. Six at the most. Though eight tonight because I have a cold and needed some NyQuil. I still gag in them but I will gag even if it’s one at a time. Just curious :)

You can not rush any long acting meds but you can crush lots of other pills no pain meds though. I use to have my patients crush in yogurt or whatever they want. But VERY IMPORTANT make sure meds can be crushed. Also same kind of pills that can be crushed can be cut in half if they are to big. Thank goodness I don’t have that issue. I take a handful at a time I gag my friends when they see me do that. But again talk to pharmacist if you want to crush your med. very important. Best of luck take care

My pill count is 20 per day and 2 injections right now, so that's 9 in the a.m. and 11 at night. I take them in 2 batches each time. I can't swallow pills bigger than a small capsule, so luckily right now I can find my vitamins in "mini's" and I'm not on any big pills, otherwise I have to cut them in half.

Because of past esophageal cancer and reconstructive surgery, it takes a while for things to make their way down, so I always eat a bite or 2 of greek yogurt after pills to make sure they go down all the way.

They say I have to take the Geodon after I eat something. I take most of them from my Pdoc and my general doctor in the morning. I leave one Geodon and the cholesterol statin for the evening. I take the last two pills in the evening.

I soon will take a finasteride pill too. I hope I can grow hair back. I have been balding for a few years now. I hope my hair follicles will respond.

I take all of mine minus my larger meds with a drink of water-- I don't swallow well so the larger ones I take on their own--((hugs)) polar

I used to be terrible at taking pills. It'd literally take me 2-3 tries and lots of gagging just to get one pill down.

Now I shotgun all 5 in one go, with barely any liquid needed. My multivitamin is a big horse pill though. Still have trouble with that one and my giant omega 3-6-9 capsules. They still go one at a time.

I can take a few at a time as well followed by a drink usually but I can take smaller pills dry

    Which explains the mysterious fevers and my extra fatigue. I'm so glad I pushed for answers.

    Due to my increased paranoia, anxiety, and a panic attack over the weekend, my psychiatrist has put me back in a full dose of Zyprexa until further notice. Every time I think I'm getting ahead something happens and it's back to square one. I knew he was gonna do this but I can't help feeling disappointed. It is what it is.
