I'm on quite a bit of medications for my bipolar and I've been out drinking. I don't know how much I've drank and I'm not feeling well. When do I need to worry and go to the ER?

Have you drank before on your current medications? It's never a good idea to drink on meds, but I would be a hypocrite to tell you not to because I've done it myself (currently in AA). However, if you are really worried, you can always go to the ER to get checked out. I'm hoping you have someone there with you. If not, you need to call someone to at least monitor you. Never put your life in danger. If you think you need to go to the ER, go. If they say you're ok, let that be a reminder next time. If you plan on drinking with meds in the future, I would definitely advise discussing it with your doctor. Meds will make you much sicker when mixed with alcohol than alcohol alone will. There are some meds that are more dangerous to drink with than others, but irregardless, drinking with meds will either make them ineffective, or make your symptoms worse. Do whatever makes you feel safe.

It's making me feel worse. My pdoc says to never drink. I drank a lot in a short amount of time and it's hitting me but feels different than just drinking too much. I'm going to the ER.

I spent the night in the hospital. It was a dangerous combination but I feel better today. With the meds I take I need to not drink so I am going to do my best to not drink. It was a good thing I went to the hospital.

I'm glad you went! Hope today isn't terribly hellish for you with the after effects. It may take a couple days for ur meds and mood to completely straighten out again, just so you know. I'm glad you are feeling better though :)

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.
