hospitalization for me

Hey everyone
havent been on in a long time and wanted to fill you all in about whats happening in my life. I thought all was wonderful things seemed to be really good and my life was stable. but, we bpers know that its hard to go more than a year without crashing and sadly i did. my episodes always start with a 911 call that gets me to the hospital . In fact i dont know anyone that has this problem of always needing to be in the hospital during an episode but the hosp always seems to seek me out.
thats besides the point crap it wasnt fun but i am on the road to recovery. Honestly, really depressed and not sure what to make of it. I am very lonly and that im sure contributes

Sorry you are depressed but glad you are out of the hospital. Maybe you should call your pdoc about the depression, you shouldn't have to feel that bad.

there was a period when i was going to the hospital about once every month, usually for substance abuse issues. well, there's nothing to be ashamed of. i don't think anyone really wants to end up there with so many freedoms taken away and being unable to sleep in your own bed at night.
be glad you aren't one of those people who refuses to ask for help when needed. :)

if you need to be in the phosp to be safe during an episode, that's where you need to be. glad you feel you're recovering...stick with that feeling and climb for all you're worth...xx, sL

At the beginning of treatment, I did need that kind of help. As time went on, my coping skills and symptoms improved with outpatient treatment. Everyone is different, and it is great to have somewhere to go that will keep you safe.

thanks guys it means alot the real thing im struggling with is the depression that has been left since the episode. i havent fully recovered yet. just how long does it take to "bounce back" ?

oh gosh i know the sadness and lonliness, i too have been hospitalised against my own will multiple times and its hard to start again when released. often i sought out drugs and alcohol after leaving psych wards as i was so lost,

'bouncing back' is very personal. certainly a phosp stay is not an indication of how long it should take. the stay is usually to get you stabilized in a very basic way...and then let outpatient care take over...

hopefully you have a pdoc and an analyst/therapist/counselor helping you now...? if not...i highly recommend working with both to keep you stable and to help you get to 'good'...ds is here for you...but professional help is also probably necessary to your equation...

and again, don't worry about putting time limits on your recovery...work at your own pace...

Please don't beat yourself up about needing to be in the hospital when you swing. The severity of our swings are personal; each of us is different. My depressive swings can be very, very bad.

I have been in the hospital five times over twenty years, most recently in the last two weeks. I too am depressed, so I send you my biggest hug and want you to know that you are not alone.

Please do make sure to see your pdoc soon though, so he or she can make modifications to your meds as necessary.

I do have outside support ie psychologist and pdoc he says its going to take some time. in the mean time im stuck. im having a hard time with the med change he upped one of them 10th fold! Im feeling sort of clouded. I have an apt so will talk to him about it. Im having trouble paying for him too . dad might be able to help tho. could get free help but really dont trust the system. so Im just feeling down on myself and my life. period end.
