Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Crap. That just makes it even worse!
I assume since you did that, you don't have a Pdoc who you can put an emergency call in to right now? That's a sad position to be in. You're in need of some treatment, all right!!
Saturdays are probably worse than Fridays, when it comes to getting them to look at you before you expired from old age!
I think you're right to consider trying a different hospital!!!
I live about 10 minutes away from a top-rated hospital, but it's a Level 1 trauma center.
This is a hospital that is about 5 minutes from the boundary of Chicago.
I think Chicago -- as huge as it is -- has only 3 Level 1 trauma centers available, and this hospital is one of them!!!!
3 Level 1 Trauma centers for a City as large as Chicago just doesn't cut it. They're always filled to overflowing!
It also means that if you go to the ER there with a complaint such as yours, you will sit and rot as they treat shot up gang-bangers (and you will have the pleasure of rubbing elbows with all of their gang-banger friends who are waiting in the ER to see how their wounded friends are doing, too), badly injured accident victims, acute and life threatening illnesses and all the other cases that are too severe to be sent to closer hospitals.
If you have any way of knowing which hospital in your area is the least busy, put that one at the top of your list!!
I don't know about going to a hospital on the weekend unless you have to, but maybe you should make a point of going somewhere sometime soon -- even if you DON'T have another attack!!! Maybe you will get some meds you can keep on hand in case you do have a future attack!!!
But I hope you don't! Good luck!!! (((((Hugs)))))
i think you did the right thing, and the hospital let you down by making you wait so long. keep trying if you still feel as bad. sooner or later they'll be able to see you.
