Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I have a few observations since I have recently been sprung from the psych ward.
1) No one takes you seriously when they interview you, they pretty much think your bats.
2) The interns that come around and ask you a million questions are hilarous, they actually take you seriously even though your bats.
3) If you went in manic it is assured that you will come out depressed.
4) Weird but you tend to make a few friends
5) You discover that your family actually cares about you
6) Eventually you realize that you might have gone off the deep end.
7) Hiding under your desk in your office so the police won't find you was comptly reasnable.

Patient's family members get scared if you smile at them during visitation.
Standing in line for the smoke break is like waiting for the recess bell to ring...everybody shoots out the door!
Getting released is being told "you're normal now" or "your insurance won't pay anymore for you to stay".
You never knew you were so talented in coloring, bingo and putting puzzles together!! Prompts you to ask your partner, "What med are you on?"
Drooling is socially acceptable.
My goodness I could just go on and on----
The number of staff who actually care and are not into it just for the money is relatively small.
Psychiatrists have the biggest ego's of any professional on the planet.
They'd rather drug you than find out exactly what is bothering you.
Made more friends there than I ever would on the outside.
Find it harder to leave than going in.
