Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Hi all,Was wandering around for support forums and found myself here. Seems to have a really genuine community.Recent BP diagnoses, thought to be anxiety/depression for the last 15 years or so. Had to take steps to leave an emotionally rough relationship over the last few months also. Have kids. Accepting the BP diagnosis and fundamental change in lifestyle are having a pretty big impact on me at the moment. Taking that "one step at a time" analogy very literally over the last few days.I haven't actually used forums previously, and i'd love to hear about other peoples stories. Thanks all

Woke up feeling very emotional and about to clock in at my place of employment. And can't place it all in writing but not been a good experience with my store manager or his boss. Defamation of my character is a concern. I've been losing appetite and weight. Trying to perform at work to keep myself from hospitalization as a result of toxic masculinity.

I am an old digi-warhorse who has been dreaming of on-line forums since I met my first point-to-point circuits in 1974. What a long, strange trip that has been and continues to be. Most of my therapy support network is still live, but the on-line forums are starting to look viable. Maybe even sustainable. I agree with your assessment that the sense of community here on DS seems to be much stronger than the other on-line forums I have encountered.
Of course, not all the DS forums are equal in that regard. Some of the forums here move so slowly that it is hard build any sense of community. I am a child sex trafficking survivor, so I spend most of my time in the PTSD forum, but my Bi-polar symptoms are intense enough that I lurk here on a regular basis.
Still timidly trying to contribute where i can, absolute agree Arfie where you mention things can run a little slow if people aren't online.
So sorry to hear what you've been through. Your resilience through that and the mental health struggles is very admirable. Thank you for sharing
We have a treatable disorder .. It just takes a little time... I'm glad you found us... Big hug....x
Acceptance is key then you can own it instead of it owning you! Good to have you here.
Reading these comments has been a good way to start the day, thanks everyone!
