Okay,

So I experience these noises in my head that sound like something is poping or a slight ticking noise. I thought it could be something very serious and went to the ER one time because of it and they found nothing. I didn't believe it so I got a copy of the CT-scan they did and I am probley going to get a 2nd opinion about it, but I have had someone tell me that it is from the bipolar meds I take and the nitrates(sp) in them. Does anyone else experience this or have heard of anyone that has?
This really scares me..

have you checked a website such as webmd.com to see the side effects of your meds. they may be causing the noises in your head. im sorry your having such a hard time i hope it gets better for you soon.

Here is the problem this has been a lingering problem even when I do med switches to different types of meds. I have not found much at all about this on the web a couple of people asked if anyone else knew what it was but they never got a response either I don't know if they where bipolar or not.

I'm sorry that this is happening to you. I've never had any experiences like what you've explained. It could be the meds though, seroquel made me hallucinate when I took it years ago. The only nitrates I know of are in hotdogs and foods like that.

I'd def. call the pdoc in the am and let him know whats going on with you.

you might want to google tinnitus. I have it and have many different noises in my head 24/7. Sometimes popping noises mostly the sound of a vaccum cleaner strapped to my back. Make an appointment with and ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) specialist.

Could be Tinnitus(?), some meds are known to cause it. But like everybody else said call your pdoc.

I talked to my PDOC about it a while back when I got my first CT-SCAN and he said it was probley because of my past 5 years ago I did some illicit drugs and he just blames it all on that and don't want to give me any other advice.

can you get a second opinion from another doctor? This may be some kind of auditory hallucination. Or maybe tinnitus.

Well I did drugs when I was young and I dont hear anything in my head. I think I would find a new dr.

I have been exposed to a lot of electromagnetic technology growing up and some very advanced technology also. I found this on google.

Exposure to certain types of electromagnetic radiation, such as
microwaves or radiofrequencies, have been associated with hearing
various types of noises, including buzzing, clicking, hissing and
popping noises, and is believed to be conneced to actual expansion of
the brain tissue as a result of exposure to such energy.

This would be the best summary so far to what is going on with me I think..

i did illicit drugs a long time ago, and they absolutely gave me this sensation. i used to think i could hear my brain bubbling in it's brain juice. absolutely.
it never lasted, and in the decade plus i have been straight, i haven't experienced it again.
i would say it's the meds, but a 2nd. doctor's opinion sounds smart to me.
