I have a passion to get finish my bachlors degree and make enough money to pay off my loans. I knew i had taken out ALOT of money for loans but 27 grand whoo thats a summ of money! anyways, are these unrealistic expectations because i am bp and may not be able to ever hold down a job long enough to pay this all off. i mean how many of you have gone to school, taken out a loan and was sussessful.
hard question i know but i need an answer. more like i need a little reassurance

if youre on disability maybe you could have the loans written off... BUT, if not, maybe you could consolidate them, just a thought

I went to military college, so my bills were paid, but, I did spend a shitload of money while I was going to school! Bought a corvette, motorcycle, party'd every night in the officer's club... it adds up! I think I was about 22 grand in debt, by the time I graduated! I did manage to pay it off, tho. It took 2 jobs, but, I did it! You can too!

here is some info i got at work, for a friend, about loan forgiveness:

if you have a Direct Loan, call Direct Loan Servicing Center at 1-800-848-0979

if you have a FFELP loan, contact the lender or agency that holds that loan

if you have a Federal Perkins Loan contact the school that made you the loan

Do you know what kind of loans you have?

i'm in a very similar position - 30k and I have no idea of how I'm going to pay it back....prostitution...errm...drug dealing...nah...I sure as hell can't really work at the moment....

I am going to invent a new sport and sell the concept for millions...

That's great that you have that goal and passion! I just graduated last quarter and now I am really starting to stress about the student loans which will be kicking in in 6 months (yikes!) Despite all of that, it does feel great to have accomplished something though. It sounds like others have some good advice for you about $, good luck!!!

yes i know that they will forgive the federal perkins. if im not too late(cross your fingers) and they said something about if i stay in a proffesion that benefits ppl in fields of oh say behaviral science they can take off a peice too. i forgot all about this! so, with the help of lost i am grateful to her and all your responses.

I took out loans for my BS and my MIS. I am working full-time at a job in my field and paying them back.
