I'm a Beeper type II. I spend most of my time down in the dumps or more anxious than a man on death row's final meal. When I'm hypomanic I tend to get a few things done, and I PLAN for the big things I want to do. Of course by the time the plan is complete, the episode is over and I can't lift a finger, nevermind follow a plan.
So...how can I get the motivation, or even the energy? I would drink energy drinks, except that the pdoc says "not too much on the caffeine" b/c of the anxiety. I know if I had a routine I'd probably do better, but how can I start a routine without the energy or motivation?
I don't have energy, I can't take something for energy, but I need energy to get things done...how else do you do it?

healthy hypomania is an oxymoron. For every high, even mild hypomania, there is a corresponding low. The goal of treatment is to level out the ups and downs. Doing so allows for consistency across days, then weeks, then months. While you are on the path to the right medication regimen, pay close attention to your general health. Get tested for simple things like thyroid, blood pressure, blood sugar, and vitamin/mineral deficiencies. See a nutritionist about a diet which boosts the effectiveness of your BP treatment as well as your mood. Find a wsy to exercise regularly. While you are on your way to better health and stability, be kind with yourself about not being able to accomplish everything you want - it takes time to feel better, but with time feeling better will come.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
