Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Lately, I have been in a similar situation, in that, I am dealing with lots of stress.
I found the activities above helpful, especially the exercise, and modifying my eating plan (clean eating with no gluten), which has made me feel like a different person. It has made me feel more energetic and resilient.
Keep your chin up, take care of yourself, and everything else will get taken care of.
Alternatively, have a bubble bath, with your favourite music playing and do not answer the door. Just ignore the world and get some you time. The phrase "Fuck off I need some me time." works, it pisses off the people around you for a short time but use it kid.
I find that stressful things get to me as well very easily so it is a good idea to self-sooth from those and get some safe space - if only in your head. Like trying to imagine yourself in the last palce you were happy and just hang out there for a bit.
I hope things get better! Sending love and light.
Tune out all noise, concentrate on your breathing, count it out for five seconds, then in for five seconds, then adding seconds until you are completely calm, then picture your favorite place. Mine was this place hidden in the woods by a creek that got demolished when they put in the new housing. I would picture it from above, first the tree tops, and go down into the branches, watching the birds and squirrels. Then the way the water cut into the bank of the creek, and the ripple in the water as it flowed. Take strength and patience from the water. Then back out, watch the wind in the branches and the clouds. Breath deep, and open your eyes ready to take on whatever crap is in front of you.
That's about where I'm at right now. Right when I got back from MT I had a few interpersonal problems right off the bat, including dealing with a friend who decided to go back on meth and was laying all his requests on me for things to help him when I've tried hard enough to help him by pointing him to resources for his other problems.
Fairiekitty - I love that. Thank you. I am going to try that.
Jenn - I am glad you reached out for support! I hope you feel better by now. I have to remember for myself right now too that things pass eventually. This too shall pass...as they say.
Take care
