I have considered suicide but have never actually tried it. I have actively looked for ways to commit suicide though just never followed through with it. Have had suicidal ideation and such though. Just one of the many reasons I was hospitalized last year.

I think no one should be able to say/tell if your BP is as severe or not as severe as others'. I'm glad, though, that the thought has never crossed your mind. It's a tough battle, for me, personally, I struggle with the thought every other day. Thank you for your support.

I am similar to JavaFirst. About every other day I "wish" I would die. I haven't tried to commit suicide, but I often think about ways to do it. Honestly, sometimes I am scared I might do it when I am really down.

May you never have that stuggle. My attempts were usually not in depressive states. I was a teenager when I attempted. There is no gage as to whose BP is worse. It is different for us all . At least that is what I think. I tend not to discuss where I am at with these thoughts now. Thank You for your support.

Not a pdoc so I don't know but I do know that I have actually tried to commit suicide. I also know that there are varying degrees of any illness. be psyched that you have never even thought about it let alone tried it. Great for you~~~~XO

I am a cutter - not BP related but true SI (and yes there is a difference) true SI is not wanting to die but all about living so up until 2010 suicide had never crossed my mind. In May of 2010 I found myself, with not truly a reason why, swallowing an entire bottle of Lamictal and a half bottle of flexeril. My step daughter happened to catch an IM message (I was at a hotel) and alerted her mom) I was in a coma for two days and put on the behavioral unit for a week. That was the one and only time and to this day I truly do not have a solid concrete reason for it.

I think suicide is wrong. I do tho happen to think euthanasia is every sane adults given right and will say (for the umteenth hundredth time unless my ass is shot or run over) when I figure enough is enough I will be the one to end it . And to me there is a HUGE difference

I think it's great that you do not get those type of feelings. Be proud of it sweetie!
And no... it does not mean your BP is less serious than other beepers. Not one bit. ( hugs)

My last suicide attempt was 12 years ago and it ended me up in the ICU on a ventilator. I took a bottle of Effexor and a bottle and Vodka. I was seizing on the scene when EMS came. That was my last attempt because it scared me so bad. I have thoughts of suicide every now and again, but I dont act on them.

If you have beendx'd as BP you are BP. there are all degrees. Just bec you try to kill yourself doesn't make you more BP then someone else. That God you dont feel that way. i have tried it twice, It is always lurking. I try to keep the stuff away that makes it com around.

Dont dwell on it. Glad you brought it up. Others might have been thinking the same thing.
