Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I have bipolar and every night I get depressed. It happens if I am on meds or not. I was just wondering if this is something common for bipolar or if it's just me.

I'm not on meds but yes, I definitely have a consistently harder time feeling chipper at night.

At night is when I start getting really sad. I think that is when my AD is wearing off.

My mood is lower in the a.m. then later on... pdoc gave me a longer lasting Wellbutrin to help .... some meds work better than others...

Yes, I am usually depressed in the mornings. If not, I am probably working on being manic before the day is over.

I get depprssed sometimes at night and sometimes in the am..well.......it darn changes from week to week and day to day. I think it has a lot to do with what is going on in my head. For instance if I just can't find the motivation or desire to do what I am supposed to do that day I am really hard on myself....and then life looks pretty bad. I constantly have to force myslef to do things. it really sucks sometimes. I get afraid of life in general sometimes.

My mind races at night and it is depressing. If only I could go to sleep within a minute of going to sleep...

When my meds weren't working, I would have highs and lows during the day and night. The afternoon was normally best for me. So, yes, nights were hard to deal with. Hope you find a way to make things better in the evening.

I tend to be just the opposite. Getting up again is very difficult for me but sounds like just what you are experiencing, just reversed.
