if dates are doing other things as well then must be honest, but if only going out drinking then why bother wasting your time and energy as neither of you will be satisfied!

If I were in your situation I would tell him that I don't drink. If I'm considering dating a person and I expect him to be able to invite me to gatherings or plan dates, it's definitely need to know information. I wouldn't feel obligated this early on to tell him my reasons. I might suggest another place to meet that doesn't involve alcohol.

I'm just imagining if he were celibate. I'm pretty sure I want him to tell me right away instead of waiting until the situation presents itself.

Just tell him you don't drink end of story. I know that when I first went back to England for a holiday after I quit drinking one relative told me I had to have something (meaning I had to have something alcoholic) I just looked him straight in the eye and repeated my order for soda water, enough said.

Tell him I can't drink, or i don't drink. be honest. If he likes you it should be for who you are , not that you don't drink....... Good luck
