Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Has anyone with BP on here ever have any success with group therapy?

Yes I was in a Cognitive Group for about a year and it helped me to come leaps and bounds in healing... It's the best therapy I've ever been in!!.. I liked it a lot!

Yes, It helped me to be able to share with others and to hear others say they struggled with the same issues I did. The other people would offer the way they learned to cope with stuff and that helped me too.

I was in an partial hospitalization program that met M-F for 5 hrs a day. I had gone through the program years ago three times. It was a cognitive behavioral group and taught me innumerable skills. I spent a month in the PHP and now I attend a weekly group that reiterates the same skills, we discuss challenges, obstacles and healthy coping mechanisms. I have learned SO much! It's also nice to be able to identify with those around you - reminds you that you're not alone!
