So I had to go in the hospital because of depression so severe I was having suicidal thoughts, hearing voices telling me to hurt or kill myself. I had been going to a PA and tdoc some distance from home, but I was unhappy with both of them, but thought I was more or less stuck with them. Since I went inpatient this time, I was able to get a pdoc who has a great reputation in the psychiatric field, and who I'd been trying to get for years. I've taken many "tools" away from my hospital stays. It's never pleasant, but if it keeps you alive and "restores" your sanity, it's well worth it!

Yes, the new pdoc is located in an area much closer to home than the other one. My beloved older sister used to worry about the long drive for me to see the former pdoc.

    Does anyone here have a comfort item you carry with you when you go out? For example this is my doll, Annie, and I've recently been bringing her with me when I run errrands flor have an appointment. Holding her comforts me. I've bought her clothes, crocheted for her, I recently bought a personalized blanket with her name on it.  Just wondering if anyone else has a comfort item.
