Good news first......I GOT A JOB!!!!!!!!!!!! It is full time, decent pay and in the field that I am interested in. I am Sooo relieved, and grateful....but I am having a hard time being "happy" or "excited". Not that I'm NOT, I am just SCARED TO DEATH that it will be another dead end or failure. As you know, the last year of my life has been one of THE most challenging years of my life (career and money-wise). It has been a string of unemployment and failures. My faith was tested over and over and there were many times that I felt like I couldn't take any more. I came close to being homeless in November and December. There were blessings in those months. I was given support and help through several agencies that allowed me to stay in my apartment. I know that The Lord watched over me. Of that I am sure. I just pray that this new endeavor is positive and successful. I start on Monday the 18th of January.
Now for the advice part. I have been working at a job for about a month in a factory doing light assembly work. The lady I have been working with through the state's rehab agency (that helped me get the job) knows that I found this job. (Ps...if you need employment help, check to see what resources are available to you in your state. They will help you based on having Bipolar and they are AWESOME!). So anyhow, She knows that I will be done working there this Friday. She is awesome. She was happier than I was when I told her about my new job. Lol. This job has been very stressful to me, in many ways. I am wondering. Should I just take the rest of the week to rest, catch up and readjust? I am still getting over pneumonia. Plus, I have been working second shift. My sleep pattern is all jacked up because of it. I am wondering if I should take these upcoming days for my mental health. Any thoughts? I know I need the money, but I also cannot afford to crash and burn either. My new job will be 7:30 am to 4 pm, and I HAVE been working 3-11. Any thoughts????

If it were me, I'd finish out the week and spend Saturday and Sunday fixing my sleep schedule and getting all ready for the new position!!
Good luck!
Very happy for you. I've read all you have been going through. Also, getting and keeping a job is a tough thing. For lots of people.
Treat this current employer well, the same good treatment will come back you you.
Like my mom says "When all of life's doors seem locked, God leaves a window open"
I am with Shelby & Chris -- I'd finish out the time you have left this week with your "soon-to-be-old" job as would be the professional thing to do. That way, you haven't anything to explain further about missing work. I know it's hard with pneumonia (I don't work - except helping an uncle and I've had to limit my hours with pneumonia), but you'll thank yourself in the end. Nothing to answer for at the old job!
Congrats again! I'm so glad for you!!
I agree with everyone that finishing the week is a good idea. Get a nice long rest this weekend.
I agree don't burn your bridges.
I'd try and stick things out this week, and rest during the weekend.
If there is a way to exit the factory job on good terms sooner I would do that. You will need to be at your best when you start the new job and you have been legitamely sick....
The world of work is difficult enough as it is when you have a chronic illness.
