Folks,

I have been on Seroquel XR 600 ml for the past year....Yes I have found it helpful but I feel like a prisoner to this shit. I have tried going off this shit cold turkey and it's not a great idea. I have not been able to sleep for the past three nights and I have fallen into deep depression. The question I have is it necessary to stay on this ....honestly I miss the highs I use to get. And I have tremendous amount of angry ....sorry I'm all over the map...I need some sleep

I can understand you missing the highs. But what we don't remember as well is the crash after the high. Stay on the med. Crashing into that dark dangerous place isn't worth the high. Stay on the med.

Right F&cking now I'm up and down like a toilet seat......I guess I feel like a prisoner and it really has help with the "Flash Anger" But if I go to therapy can't I learn to control this....I don't know

I think the best bet would have been to titrate off Seroquel slowly. I am on it now for my depression, and all I do is sleep. I need to talk to my pdoc about adjusting my dose.

I second what Christa said, titrate off slowly and under the guidance of your doctor. Good luck to you. Please try another med too.

I take abilify and trileptal; maybe you could try that combo.

going off meds cold is usually a really bad idea, talk to your doctor about how you're feeling, but also about what you want to be feeling and whether there's a combination that will help stabilise you without feeling so flat. therapy will help too, especially with learning how to deal with anger. i think some major anger is warranted in your case, but a therapist can help you to find ways to channel it into positive outcomes.

Thanks everyone.....I'm going to take them right now...I'm freakin exhausted and need the rest. I'm not thing straight right now and need to rest and regroup....it would have been my 15th Wedding Anniversary today ........A stupid ass move to try and do this now......sorry everyone.

Hi....1st I want to thank you for your reply to my post. Second, PLEASE reconsider. I have come off Lithium many times.....enough times to know how it tempts me and when you said

"I feel like a prisoner to this medication" it was as if I was saying it
and esp the part about missing the highs.....it's just not worth it.

Call your doctor. I know we don't like relying on them but they deserve to remain informed about our decisions.
