Geodon did NOT work for me at all; it made me agitated and angry and paranoid. I was on it for a total of 7 months and that was all I could stand. So my pdoc switched me to Abilify, and what a difference!

I used to fall asleep over my morning coffee when I took zyprexa years ago. I couldn't even get out of bed. That wasn't a good drug either. So far Abilify makes me want a few more hours of sleep than status quo but at least I don't fall asleep once I'm awake!

Geodon made me hyper and agitated. I was on it for only a few days and it screwed with my heart as well. I didn't do well on it.

It was tough for me to adjust to Geodon but after a while the side affects went away. It has been a good drug for me.

Geodon isn't all bad. It isn't as heavy as Zyprexa or some of the other older ones.When I was on Geodon alone it screwed with my sleeping cycles. I would sleep for four hours and struggle to get back to sleep before daylight. In that respect I was tired most of the time. I was up to 160mg a day at one point. I am currently taking 80mg a day along with Zyprexa and a few other name brands.

I was upped on my geodon, it is the only thing that makes me sleep at night. Like any meds I have experienced in the past I made sure it wasn't my "bipolar" thinking for a long time I so badly wanted a miracle drug. I went though so many just remember they all have some negative and positive reactions . I've been living with bipolar for 35 years and still change my meds lol. Please do not get off any meds unless you talk with your pdoc. Good Luck

I was on Geodon for a few months, but my dr. stopped it due to my progressing side effects (trembling hands, unable to sit still, racing heart, and twitching eyeballs, I'm sure there was more, but don't remeber)It was horrible for me no matter what dosage, my dr. had me increase and then decrease and it made no difference at all so he had me stop taking it. But anyways to answer your question it didn't make me tired at all, if anything more hyper aside from the side effects.

This drug made my tongue hang out of my mouth like a giraffe, I am still searching for something that won't make me fat....I just want something that will keep me from being delusional again.....

I have been on Geodon 20 mg for a week now. Tonight my legs are twitching as well as some random twitches in my butt and back. Is this normal and will it go away? Geodone seems to be helping my severe bp depression, but I don't want to get tardive diskensia. Also it knocks me out when I take it to the point where I shouldn't be driving.

Geodon didnt work for me, it just made me tired and suicidal and I eventually overdosed and ended up in a hospital. Not to say it'll do the same for you, but all I remember from when I was on geodon was the sleeping, the sobbing, and the suicide attempt.

I love Geodon, take 60mg at bedtime and it's done miracles for me as a mood stabilizer. Been on it for 9 months - No weight gain with it either.

I've decided to try to stop taking Geodon. I've tried to before but due to not able to sleep went back on it. I want off of this. anyone have any idea how to get off of this drug?

I have been depressed for two months. No one knew expect my immediate family because I don't talk to or see anyone. I can count on my two hands how many times I have left the house this year. Sleeping 11 hours a night. I work at home. So I can hide it pretty well. The last couple of weeks something changed. I stopped sleeping well (2 hours in a night), brain chatter that would quite - I can't ever say racing throughts its more like someone took those soemtimes loveoly racing thoughts chewed them up and vomited them back uip into my head. I haven't been able to thing to work. last week I pulled about 15 books off my bookself to read (books are a red flag for me) this week I can barely read a sentance. and I am still depressed. Switching. Mixed State.

I take 600 Seroquel XR, Lamicla 200 and a very small dose of fluoxitine. She swotched me to Geodon. I took 80 mg last night and tonight to I will take 160. Said I would have a lot of anxiety the first couple of days, and I am feeling it. I am supposed to use my clonipin to push throught it. I HOPE this works. I am so tired of trying different meds. What worked the best for me was zyprexa/Symbyax but it is so hard on the body. ANyway, it would be nice to loose the 30 pounds I have gained on Seroquel if this Geodon works!
