I recently saw my doctor and my doctor has prescribed me geodon to take along with prozac for my ptsd and ocd. I was reading on the internet that it can cause homicidal ideation and I already have harm ocd. I read up that geodon is used for bipolar disorder, can anyone let me know about this drug.

I found it a tough drug to take because it enervates at bedtime and makes you sleepy during the day. However it really helped me to get over a mixed episode like nothing else before. Give it some time and faith to see if it might be of help.....(hugs)))) I hope it does something useful!

Geodon made me really sleepy during the day, I used to have to take Trazadone to sleep through the night, but that was stopped because I wasn't waking up to use the bathroom before I had a couple of accidents. Geodon did however, get me out of the psych hospitals I was in for about 7 months in 2012, I was taking 240mgs. When insurance cut that in half, I crashed and burned. So if and when you are ready to get off this drug, do it a little at a time. Presently taking Abilify 15mgs. and 300mg of Effexor XR/day. The 300mg is a little above the max dose, but I'm certain this will be adjusted at next appt. in Aug. Hope this drug helps you out :)

Geodon was my savior!!! Was laying my head on the doctors table practically drooling. He gave me some of that wonderful stuff within two days, seriously I was able to pick my head up and was not depressed. It happened very quickly unlike those fukin SSRI's. You may end up with no side effects at all. If you do end up with some, it may be worth it to feel good. Take care of yourself and feel free to send me a message or a hug. Ive had bipolar for eleven years and six years before that I had severe clinical depression.
