I've been on Geodon since May and it made a difference within the first few weeks. I'm at the highest dose which is 160mg. I started out on 120mg but was having problems being manic still. As for sleep....once I fall asleep I'm out and have trouble waking up. Havent had any side effects except for easily overheating in the summer sun and since I had heat exhaustion once before I'm a little more suseptible to it.

I could not stay awake on Geodon. I couldn't drive for danger of falling asleep. My doctor said there was a good chance of that side effect wearing off, but it didn't

and it never worked for me. But then again I'm extremely sensitive to meds and have taken no telling how many for short periods of time

It works for many people. Give it a shot and be optimistic.

My 9 yr old son started geodon last Thurs. he is on the lowest dose, 20 mg. I like being his mom now. It worked so quickly, I just can't give it to him at night he stayed awake all night the first night he took it. We did go up to 40 mgs for 2 days, but it left him with a "Joker" smile, and drooling. Needless to say we dropped the dose again. I have to say this is the best med he has ever been on! Hope it works for you!

Hey mictoria. I am on my second bout with Geodon. The first time it had horrible side effects to my physical body, but this time the pdoc gave me Cogentin to go along with it. It reminds me of being buzzed on alcohol except I don't have that full belly thing going on. I was on 240mg per day the first round. I am just now up to 80mg twice a day. So far; so good. Keep fingers crossed for me cause it done me just right for my brain. SIGH. Take care hun.
