Does anyone take this? I was looking up meds for hot flashes and I see its used for hot flashes,anxiety,bi polar and a bunch of other things.

It's one my p doc never mentioned. I have to switch p docs because of switching to Medicaid. I asked him to refer me to a new one that accepts it and he did but they are reviewing my case and will call me back in 3 or 4 weeks. I wonder if my PCP can try me on it.

Gabapentin also know as Neurontin works for 85 % of Bipolar people !

I took it for years for fibromyalgia. It did help somewhat but it made me feel dumbed down and terrible horrible dry mouth worse than any of my other meds as far as making my mouth dry.Like DD said though everybody is different. HUGS!!

Same as DD it didn't work for me.... Felt like I had a fish bowl on my head the whole time!

Yes I do! I love it. I prefer it over Xanax or Vistaril.

Haven't heard of it used for hot flashes...but gabapentin is prescribed off-label for a b'jillion conditions. Inpatient, it was dispensed for anxiety and sleep. Before bed I take a few to help sleep.
