I hope this isn't too much information.

My boyfriend and I haven't had sex in 7 months because of my hysterectomy in August and my other health issues. Part of the reason was I wasn't mentally ready yet either. Well today we tried and I couldn't go through with it. It hurt pretty bad. I felt fine mentally about it but not physically. My boyfriend was great about it and he has been this entire time.

I'm 43 and I've gone 7 months before with no sex and it didn't hurt. I'm not afraid to keep trying but I'm wondering if I should talk to my gyno about it. My boyfriend says it's probably just because it's been so long since we've done it.

I had a hysterectomy and waited about 6 weeks before sex. Didn't have any problems.

Consider his size to the previous guy's size. When my girlfriend and I had sex for the first couple times, she couldn't go through it with because it hurt too much. It even hurts a couple weeks after not having sex, but she says it's worth it.

I had problems after menopause. Saw ob/gyn and she prescribed a cream to use as after menopause your body doesn't lubricate anymore. Please see your doc, you don't need to suffer.

It is a possibility but I would talk to the gyno about it :) I wish I even had the tiniest hint of a sex drive :( It hurts for me too a little bit if I try just so my poor husband gets relief but he is so great about it just like your boyfriend :) I feel sorry for my hubby :(

i dunno, there have been times when it had been a long time between sex, and then it would hurt some the first few times, like when you lose your virginity though not bloody.
but i am pretty young.

It hurts for me as well. I'm my fiances first so he doesn't know what he's missing (lol) we only have sex about once every six months or so. I know I'm only 24 but sex has never been all that pleasurable for me.... well with men anyway sorry if that TMI

I would call to see if this is normal for post recovery? Also, see your therapist if you have one to talk to about it and use them as a sounding board. Also could use some Lubrication next time? Just thoughts.
