Had my appointment with Psychiatrist today (is that the same as a pdoc?) she agreed to add lithium to my current meds. I am both excited and a little nervous. I hope it makes that "frizzy" high, as I call it, go away... but I don't want to be a zombie either. I don't know what to expect. I dont want anymore weight gain, either. Wish me luck.

Lithium hasnt given me any side effects except the first couple days I used it I had a stomach ache. I tolerate it really well. I take 900 mg and my bloodwork is always normal. Drink a lot while on Lithium because its hard on the kidneys. I drink a couple quarts of water a day. You will notice at first, you are more thirsty but that goes away after awhile. Hang in there sweetie, it gets better. ((HUGS))

I love lithium. It helps with my mania. SO grateful for this medication. The only side effect I have a hard time with is the disembodied one. I feel separated from everything. ALmost like there is a wall up between myself and my emotions. Does that make sense? I don't feel it all the time, just sometimes. And, I agree with RachyIA--drink lots of liquids. Hope the med works for you--don't give up!

I've been on it for over a month now 300mgs twice a day. I haven't seemed to notice any improvement, in fact my depression has gotten worse.

Well that's not good. My doc started me at 900 a day, 300 am and 600 before bed. I haven't noticed any depressive symptoms. Maybe u should req bump it up....?

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
